Hofmann Research began as an independent research effort exploring whether psychiatric treatment selection could benefit from cross-study participant-level evidence.

The initial focus is psilocybin treatment for major depressive disorder and treatment-resistant depression because the literature is active, heterogeneous, and scientifically important. This focus is not a claim that psychedelic treatments are superior to established treatment pathways.

The name is historically respectful: Albert Hofmann's work helped establish the scientific investigation of psychedelic compounds. Hofmann Research does not imply his endorsement, institutional sponsorship, or any historical affiliation.
